Beginning with the April 2009 issue, Molecular Oncology introduced a new type of publication - Thematic Issues - that are intended to highlight a particular area of cancer research and to give an overview of where that specific field stands today and where it is heading to in the near future. Focus of the current thematic issue is Genetic Instability and Cancer, edited by Jiri Bartek.
